HASCO RECEIVES STATE AUDITOR’S AWARD

[Everett, WA]– The Housing Authority of Snohomish County (HASCO) was bestowed the State Auditor’s Stewardship Award yesterday in recognition of their commitment to making government work better.

State Auditor, Pat McCarthy, remarked, “The Office of the Washington State Auditor is pleased to recognize the Housing Authority of Snohomish County’s dedication to making government work better and its commitment to accountability and transparency through the audit process.” She continued, “The Authority’s leadership promotes a culture of accountability for public resources and an emphasis on maintaining strong internal controls. Additionally, the Authority prioritizes efficient operations given the nature of its funding model and the numerous complexities and responsibilities involved in managing federal funds.”

HASCO is the second housing authority to receive this award since its inception in 2015. To be selected for this award, an organization must be nominated by the Office of the Auditor. The Auditor’s office oversees about 2,300 entities statewide, including state agencies.

“We’re honored to have been selected for this award,” said Pam Frost, HASCO’s Director of Finance, “Our staff here is very knowledgeable and diligent about the work they do.”
