Who Qualifies for HASCO Programs?

Eligibility is Related to Income

First step in understanding if you qualify

Add up the total yearly income for everyone in your household. This includes wages, social security and disability payments, retirement payments and child support. The other important factor is the number of people that live together—the number of people supported by the total amount of income.

The following table shows the maximum per year income allowed for households of different sizes. The income amounts listed are before any taxes or withholdings are taken out (often called “wages” or “total income”).

What are the income limits to apply for housing assistance?

U.S. Citizens and Eligible Non-Citizens

Step two in understanding who qualifies

At least one member of your household must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.

You may apply for housing support without a Social Security Number (SSN) or Alien Registration Number (Alternate ID). However, to be eligible for housing support when your application is drawn from the waiting list, the head of household must provide one of these documents.
