Scriber Place Breaks Ground
LYNNWOOD, WA -On Wednesday, October 1, HASCO joined Housing Hope, the Edmonds School District, and various community partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of Scriber Place. This innovative development is a first in Washington state and will provide housing for students enrolled in the Edmonds
School District and their families.
HASCO’s contribution to Scriber Place is in the form of 52 housing vouchers, along with 20 years of operating subsidy. The Voucher program provides muchneeded operating support in lieu of what would otherwise be needed in rent to pay for increasing insurance costs, ongoing maintenance, staff, and utilities. While these items seem minor on their own, they add up. It’s anticipated that the vouchers will provide an estimated $47 million in operating subsidy over 20 years.
This partnership shows the power of community organizations coming together to address critical housing needs and support families in achieving housing stability. The impact of projects like this extends beyond housing solutions; they contribute to the overall well-being of the community. By working together, we’re not only providing essential resources, but fostering an environment
where residents can thrive.
Congratulations to Housing Hope and the Edmonds School District for expanding housing opportunities in our community!
