The Housing Authority of Snohomish County has a new Executive Director. Duane Leonard, a Snohomish County native, will begin his tenure effective October 1, 2016.
Duane Leonard has been with HASCO for 22 years and has extensive experience in public sector finance including working at the Washington State Auditor’s Office and the City of Tacoma. Leonard served on the Washington State Treasurer’s Local Government Investment Pool Advisory Committee from 1997 to 2003. During his twenty years at the Housing Authority, Leonard has overseen the finances of the agency as it grew from approximately 1,600 vouchers and 830 housing units to over 3,400 vouchers and 2,100 units of housing.
Leonard succeeds Bob Davis who is retiring from the HASCO Executive Director position. Davis successfully served as the Housing Authority’s Executive Director for the last 22 years. Prior to joining the Housing Authority, Davis was an executive with a company that built and sold manufactured housing. Davis’s experience also includes several years of development management with the King County Housing Authority. His career in housing began forty years ago with the Citizens Housing and Planning Council of New York, the New York City Office of Management and Budget and the New York City Department of City Planning.
