HASCO Receives National Housing Awards

The Housing Authority received two Merit Awards from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.  NAHRO recognizes housing organizations that have found innovative solutions to local issues that make a difference in their community and impact the lives of those they serve.

The “Merit Award for Program Innovation – Affordable Housing” commends HASCO for purchasing the Alpine Ridge Senior Manufactured Housing Community and establishing a home replacement program to buy back old, unsafe pre-HUD code homes and replace them with energy-efficient manufactured homes.  The “Merit Award for Administrative Innovation” recognizes HASCO’s establishment of a Sound Families Program Coordinator position to assess the 319 unit Sound Families program, facilitate communication between program partners, evaluate partnerships, and create tools to improve the program, which has led to improved efficiency and goodwill between partners.
